11 Howard
My ceramic sculptures for 11 Howard are simple and honest, true to the nature of the material. Beginning with a simple square of clay, I push and pull, press and lift. Responding to my touch, the clay curls, slumps, arches and cracks. I installed the pieces particularly to play with light and shadow and to add texture and dimension to the overall environment.
Both Aby Rosen and Anda Andrei personally selected my sculptures to complement the ambiance and style of the space. 11 Howard is also the first stateside project of Space Copenhagen, the design studio behind Noma restaurant. I am thrilled to be a part of this great team and to work with such nice people on this incredible project.
